Finding the right local band still depended too much on knowing the right people.
Soundtreff started as an idea to connect musicians looking for visibility with organizers looking for the right act. I shaped it into a focused MVP — defining the product model, user roles, monetization and core journeys alongside the product experience.
I shaped the product around one core job: finding the right act.
To keep the marketplace focused, musicians needed visibility while organizers needed fast discovery. Genre filters, local Top 10s and inline audio previews let organizers narrow their options and hear a band before opening its profile.
Fast decisions for organizers. Measurable visibility for musicians.
For organizers, profiles surface the essentials upfront — distance, band info, likes, videos and live footage — with messaging one step away. For musicians, profile visits, likes and incoming messages make visibility measurable, while Spotlight turns that traction into something they can actively build on.
One musician doesn’t always mean one band.
A single account can manage multiple acts, reflecting how musicians actually work — a bassist might play in three bands while also maintaining individual visibility.
The brand had to feel like music, not marketplace software.
I created the visual identity, colour language and motion direction around discovery, energy and live performance — while keeping the interface quiet enough for the artists to stay in focus.
A product idea became a scoped MVP: from business logic to final UI.
