Legacy typography looked valid to existing cleanup tools because styles were already attached. I built a custom plugin that detects styles outside the approved design system, maps them to the correct equivalents and lets designers review only the exceptions.

Hundreds of screens were using the wrong typography styles — and existing plugins couldn’t detect them.

Legacy styles were already attached to the text, so standard cleanup plugins treated them as valid. The text looked connected, but many styles were attached from legacy files rather than the approved design system.

I built a plugin to find and fix legacy typography, so designers review exceptions, not entire screens.

It identifies non-DS typography, maps it to the correct design-system equivalent, and preserves the intended font size and weight. Designers can jump to detected layers, review fixes individually, or update them in bulk instead of auditing screens manually.
